I'm looking forward to building my Gibbet Cage from your plans. Is there a reason for using aluminum rather than steel? I was thinking of using steel and letting it rust and weather naturally. I was thinking it might bend easier too.
Hello. Yes, the reason for using aluminum is that it's lighter and it bends easier. We've built a few things with steel and usually needed a blowtorch to get it to bend. The riveting is also much easier with aluminum rod rather than steel. If you do make a steel gibbet please send a picture, i'm sure it will look awesome with natural rust and weathering. Godspeed.
